Want to know more?
I am a project manager and town planner, with over a decade’s experience working in planning policy, local transport, regeneration and conservation in Local Government in the UK.
I have a lengthy track record in delivering projects that benefit the local community, having had leading roles in a wide range of project work from award winning Shared Space projects in Suffolk, building cycleways on disused railways lines in Mid Essex to conserving historic environment on the Essex Coast and leading projects to help communities get more involved in their environments in Berkshire.
Recently I’ve been putting my communication skills in a new use by writing engaging online content for charities and community development organisations and by running a series of Social Media workshops, enabling the participants to better promote their causes, organisations or small businesses online. This has led to establishing The Social Street Project, an aspiring social enterprise, who’s aim is to inspire and enable communities to use social media to their full advantage.
I am really passionate about exploring our interactions with our immediate environment and the impact our local environment has on our lives. Being a perpetual student, I also recently completed a Diploma in Geosciences with The Open University. I’ve also been privileged to do Global Citizenship Advocacy training with the renowned Reading International Solidarity Centre.
I live in Reading with my family. I am a Mum to a very lively one year old, my days are often fueled by caffeine. If I ever have any spare time I enjoy crafts, I am always trying to make something, I try to play the ukulele, I defend my vegetable patch from the molluscs of the Thames Valley I also love to cycle and I daydream about living a more sustainable and less impactful life.
